Free ‘blueprint for clinical services’ launched exclusively for HubRx pharmacies

HubRx has launched a free training and clinical support package – complete with over £1,200 worth of Patient Group Directions – to help independent pharmacies turn the capacity they have gained through automated dispensing into more clinical service profits.

Exclusively available to independent pharmacies, the HubRx Clinical Services Support Package brings together essential peer-to-peer support with a wide range of easy to access digital resources.

It’s been created by experts from across the industry to help pharmacies boost clinical service profits, upskill staff and support pharmacists in their evolving clinical roles.

The Clinical Services Support Package includes:

  • Access to a growing library of PGDs from Get Real Health – including vaccinations, weight management and women’s health worth more than £1,200 per year, per branch. Available to HubRx customers via their Insights Portal.
  • Step-by-step clinical services guides – created by expert pharmacists who have transformed a group of Yorkshire pharmacies, to make it easier to integrate new services into everyday practice.
  • Ready-made training documents and skills matrices – enabling easier staff onboarding and skills development.
  • Live chat feature – on-hand to help pharmacists during patient consultations to support the delivery of new services.

HubRx customers can also join exclusive peer-to-peer communities as part of the Clinical Services Support Package, including a dedicated group for independent prescribers.

Within these community groups members can share experiences, discuss challenges and receive support and advice from peers.

Commenting on the launch of the Clinical Services Support Package, Daniel Lee, CEO of HubRx said: “Turning the dispensing capacity HubRx releases – which is on average 90 hours a week in each branch – into more clinical service profit can come naturally to some pharmacies. But for others it can be a challenge. That’s why we’ve created this new resource.

“We’ve combined all of our learning and experience from using HubRx across our own chain of pharmacies, with a PGD library and practical guides that have been created by people who truly understand the pressures felt behind the counter.”

The launch of the HubRx community for independent prescribing comes ahead of the service’s expansion into Pharmacy First in England this autumn.

Daniel adds: “Despite its imminent roll-out questions remain around how the new independent prescribing service will practically work. By creating a community for IPs we hope not only to provide a support network for independents who often work alone or in small teams, but also help answer some of those questions.”

HubRx is the first state-of-the-art fully automated dispensing hub designed solely for the benefit of independent community pharmacies.

To date it’s dispensed more than 4.5 million prescription items.

Pharmacies using HubRx can gain up to 15 hours a day, dispense at a third of the typical local cost per NHS item, while staying in control of clinical checks, EPS nominations and patient relationships.
